Review

4.0 out of 5 stars As good as Agatha Christie.ByWallace Hillon 3 June 2017-Amazon AustraliaFormat: Kindle EditionAn extremely readable who done it very enjoyable . The characters werevery believable for the period the story is set in and the descriptionsof the buildings of Chicago of that time were very good. Would encourage all who enjoy a good crime mystery to read this book.Pat Allen 5 star review it was amazing-May 11, 2018 good reads review
A Stunning New Hotel in Chicago

Society flocks to experience all the amenities of a beautiful new hotel, never suspecting that murders were being carried out right there on the premises. This period piece introduces a widow who lost not only her much loved husband, but her children too, who has decided to become an investigator long before women entered previously male-dominated careers. Highly enjoyable reading.

Great read. It was almost as thrilling as stalking Jack. I figured out who killer was but not until the latter part of the book. I did rule out Christopher. I hope to read more about Philip in future books.

The 2nd book in the Madeline Donovan Mysteries series, this one is just as enjoyable and haunting as the first. I love a mystery series that carries the same protagonist throughout and Madeline Donovan is very likable. In The Harrison, she is back in the States (in Chicago) and finds herself embroiled in a new mystery that centers at a luxury hotel. Women have gone missing and Donovan, with the help of her two friends, sets out to figure it out in this creepy hotel. Another really enjoyable mystery, with great dialogue and suspense. This time, the romantic element is thrown in as well, which I enjoy as an added twist in a story.

This is a good story; the characters are varied and unique, and well portrayed. The plot is original and well thought out.
However, there are so many typos and grammatical errors that they greatly take away from the enjoyment of the book. Mistakes that I've rarely seen before: repeated words, words left out, just plain wrong words. I read The Harrison in ebook form, and I know that for some reason ebooks are prone to having a lot of such problems. But in this book, there seemed to be almost one on every page. No excuse for that; someone needs to go back and proofread the darn book.

Great story! I had been referred to this book by a friend of mine as I am not usually big on mysteries, but I thought I would give it a try and I am so glad that I did. I read through some of the reviews and even though there were multiple grammatical errors the story itself was fantastic and I had no problem relating to the main character Madeline. Some people read with their eyes and see nothing but the mistakes but I tend to read with my heart and this author definitely had the ability to get that pumping. Thank you MK I loved it!

A well told storyline with a great many well developed characters. Following Madeline's search for Jack the Ripper in book one she finds herself enmeshed in a mystery involving missing young women. It's a tense chase as she searches for clues in Chicago early days. She's becoming quite a detective.
