The Furyck Saga: An Epic Fantasy Adventure (Books 1-3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,408 ratings

Jael Furyck doesn’t want a husband.
Daughter of a king, Jael is a battle-hardened warrior, trained to kill since she was ten years old; her plans have never involved marriage. But when her father dies, her loathsome uncle steals the throne, and fearing she’ll gather enough support to overthrow him, he arranges to marry his troublesome niece to the son of Brekka’s arch-enemy.

Eadmund Skalleson doesn’t want a wife.
He had a wife, who died, and broken-hearted, he sank into an ale pit of despair, far removed from the renowned warrior he once was. Now, he’s an embarrassment to his father, the King of the Slave Islands, who has finally run out of patience. The king has no love for the smug Furycks, but an alliance with them will legitimise his fledgling kingdom and provide Eadmund with a powerful wife.

Though as the rival kings scheme and Jael and Eadmund fight against a future neither of them wants, an ancient darkness crawls out of the shadows – an echo of the past – seeking to destroy them all...

This box-set includes the first three books in
The Furyck Saga: a thrilling epic fantasy series set in a world of warring kingdoms, fearless warriors and mysterious dreamers, where a prophecy warns of impending disaster, and an unstoppable warrior is fated to rise above them all.

Includes:

Wow! This series is spectacular! This series, knocked me off my feet, twisted me all around, and flung me back to the ground! What a ride!

Characters: complex, well-developed, flawed, and totally human. I was vested in them all!

Plot: Turns, twists, half-truths vs. half-lies, spies, darkness, and an impending sense of doom. This is a rollicking good ride!

Flow: While the story seems to slow at times, I found these were the times to catch your breath, discover a new facet to the characters, and even laugh. The scenes were beautifully described, as were all the nuances of every character.

In closing, thank you A.E. Rayne! You have enriched my life and imagination with this series! I can'y wait to read what else your imagination comes up with!

These books are the first part of a longer series of seven books. The first 2.5 books are slower than they needed to be with little irritating 2-4 paragraph sections liberally peppered through the entire storyline. I almost stopped reading the series because of it. Don't run away, the series gets so much better! I think the writer took notes, got a better editing team, and created a truly fascinating story.

I loved the characters right from the beginning. They kept me reading the books. They are real and believable people. After I was partway through book three, I couldn't put them down. There is a perfect ratio of predictability and surprise to keep you connected to the characters but riveted to the action and story progression. I'm so glad I kept reading! I really enjoyed it and missed the characters after I was done.

There was plenty in this series, so far. Including betrayal, love, romance, friendships and kings falling. This series is written well and I feel like I am in an alternate time. Women are treated more like property and to the whims of kings. Even Jael a powerful warrior is subjected to following a king's directive. However, Jael is smart, strong, caring, compassionate and a true warrior. I have enjoyed each book so far, and they must be read in order, or the reader will be lost.

Superlatives everywhere from the great writing, character development, plot twists, excitement and vivid imagination that kept me reading past my bedtime night after night.
Those who hate switching between POVs might not be so happy and though I wasn’t crazy about it at first as I learned who the characters were I grew to realize that it was like watching a play on a big stage where various characters in different settings are acting out scenes on a big stage and your simply switching to wherever the spotlight is shining. The interrelationships and story arc is wonderful. Highly recommended!

This trilogy has a pretty good storyline. The first book is pretty slow on the uptake, but that's to be expected because the author is building a world, its people & its customs. It gets better in the 2nd book & much better in the 3rd book.

Ho amato tantissimo questa saga, battaglie, duelli, personaggi credibili, una vera eroina come protagonista, certo, alcune cose sono troppo stile Trono di Spade ma io l'ho trovata fantastica.

I loved the first three books (picked these up as a kindle bundle) practically inhaling them. 3D characters, varied interesting and different, a really intelligent plot, more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing - basically a really great read!

A no-mud-avoided series, where the characters roll about in the mud fighting and regret their grime but get up and carry on. The good guys are often psychologically damaged and the bad guys sometimes change their spots, but their character flaws are acceptable in the big picture. Six books in the series and all good reads, culminating in a satisfactory conclusion, if not quite as positive as one would hope.
